These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Paws for Veterans website and services. By contacting us, booking a session, or using any of our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please refrain from using our services.
1. Services Provided
Paws for Veterans offers dog grooming, confidence-building sessions, and leash manners training. Services are provided by a trained handler with military service experience. All sessions are one-on-one and conducted with the welfare of the animal as the primary priority.
We reserve the right to decline or terminate a service at any time if we determine that continuing poses a risk to the dog, the handler, or any other person.
2. Accurate Information
By booking a session, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information about your dog, including breed, age, known health conditions, and behavioural history
- Disclose any history of aggression, fear-based reactivity, or bite incidents prior to the first session
- Disclose any current medications or ongoing veterinary treatment
- Ensure your dog is up to date on core vaccinations
Failure to disclose relevant information may result in cancellation of services without refund.
3. Health & Vaccinations
All dogs must be in general good health to participate in grooming or training sessions. Dogs showing signs of illness, open wounds, or active skin conditions may be declined service until they receive veterinary clearance. This policy protects your dog, handler safety, and other animals.
4. Cancellations & Rescheduling
We understand that life is unpredictable. Our cancellation policy is:
- More than 48 hours notice: Full credit or reschedule, no charge
- 24–48 hours notice: 50% of session fee retained, or full credit if rescheduled
- Less than 24 hours / no-show: Full session fee retained
Emergency cancellations (illness, family emergency) are handled on a case-by-case basis with compassion and flexibility.
5. Payment
Payment terms, accepted methods, and pricing will be provided and agreed upon prior to your first session. Prices are subject to change; any changes will be communicated with reasonable notice before they take effect.
6. Liability & Disclaimer
Paws for Veterans provides all services with reasonable care, skill, and diligence. However, we cannot guarantee specific outcomes in training or behavioural work, as results depend on many variables including the individual dog’s history, temperament, and ongoing owner reinforcement.
By booking a session, you acknowledge that:
- Working with dogs carries inherent risk
- You remain solely responsible for your dog’s behaviour at all times
- Paws for Veterans is not liable for any injury, damage, or loss resulting from undisclosed information about your dog’s history or temperament
- Our liability is limited to the value of the session(s) booked
7. Intellectual Property

8. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Canada and the applicable provincial laws. Any disputes arising from these Terms or our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Canadian courts.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of our services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
