Where discipline
meets compassion.
Paws for Veterans began with a simple observation: the pet care industry doesn’t understand veterans. And it certainly doesn’t understand the depth of the bond veterans share with their dogs.
After years in service, the routine of civilian life can feel disconnected. The structure, the purpose, the mission — that’s gone. But for many veterans, their dog becomes the anchor. The reason to get up. The presence that doesn’t ask questions.
When looking for grooming and training options, the experience was always the same: loud, chaotic, impersonal. Dogs handled like products. No patience. No calm. It didn’t sit right.
So Paws for Veterans was built on a different foundation. One-on-one sessions. No kennels. No assembly lines. Just calm, structured, respectful care for every dog that walks through the door.
- Founded and operated by a Canadian veteran
- Military-grade discipline applied to every session
- Every session is private — no group kennelling
- Part of proceeds support veteran wellness programs
What we stand for
Three principles guide everything we do — for every dog, every session, every day.
Veterans deserve services
that understand them.
More than 40,000 veterans in Canada live with PTSD, anxiety, or service-related trauma. Study after study confirms what veterans already know: their dogs help. The routine of feeding, walking, grooming — that rhythm matters. It anchors, it grounds, it gives purpose.
Paws for Veterans exists to support that mission. We take the care of that dog seriously, because we know what that dog means to the person on the other end of the leash.
A portion of every session goes toward veteran wellness initiatives and organizations that support the veteran-dog relationship across Canada.
